“There is life in craft.” Grounded in gratitude, yet so open to possibility, Sibongile has an energy that sparkles. She and her bold work are inspired by Africa, wildlife and glorious nature. She creates her jewellery with great respect for material and wearer.

Sibongile’s love of jewellery started as a receptionist at a well-known South African jewellery house in the 90s. She would eye the work in the back, ever curious and eager to learn. Eventually she was invited to apprentice, and cut her jeweller teeth soldering, filing, polishing and cutting.
When the company closed, Sibongile knew she had to continue with her passion. She scoured her daughter’s drawers for their old jewellery, to melt the metal down and create pieces for her new venture. Fortunately, her children were supportive then and now. To Sibongile’s delight, Samantha, her youngest, may soon join her at her work bench!
Sibongile wholeheartedly believes in the beauty and humanity of craft. She knows local and international audiences are touched by the handmade, and the effort, time and passion visible in each piece. She hopes for local jewellery to grow internationally, and for more and more people to understand and honour quality.
